working hard or hardly working?

A friend asked me how is it that I can have so many Tweets. Specially when I’m working.

I’m not skiving. I do a lot of research for the company. My one goal and ambition – to introduce the concept of marketing our products via Social Media. Not in an in-you-face manner but in something that would attract attention, appeal to the masses, is fun and interactive!

“You should have gone into advertising.” I’ve been told. I would, but most times I worry that I’ll just be shucked into a corner that won’t allow me the freedom and independence of doing such research and coming up with these rebellious innovative ideas.

And that’s how I answered her question.

So that this isn’t wholly about me and my seemingly insidious way of slacking off at work, check this out.

Most condom advertisements border on outrageous to tacky. However, this brand took a different approach that appealed on an emotional level. It also had a societal message to bring across. In a conservative country where advertising condoms is illegal (or rather, too controversial), how else would you generate awareness (and in turn sales) for your brand/product?
